Biodiversity Policy
AP (Thailand) Public Company Limited and its subsidiaries (the “Company”) recognizes the role of the real estate sector in relation to ecosystems and biodiversity, both as a potential source of impact and as a contributor to the restoration and support of nature within urban environments. The Company is therefore committed to conducting its business with environmental responsibility, taking into account the conservation, restoration, and enhancement of natural resources, alongside the creation of value for all stakeholders. Accordingly, the Company has established this policy in alignment with internationally recognized frameworks and standards, including GRI 101: Biodiversity 2024, the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD), the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD), and other relevant international best practices on biodiversity management and conservation. The guiding principles are as follows:
- The Company shall integrate biodiversity management into all stages of its business operations, from land acquisition, design, and development to post-handover management, in order to prevent and minimize adverse impacts on ecosystems, while promoting a balanced coexistence between humans and nature.
- The Company shall strictly comply with all applicable laws, standards, and regulatory requirements, particularly for large-scale projects requiring Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), and shall adopt the mitigation hierarchy by prioritizing impact avoidance, followed by minimization, restoration, and offsetting, where appropriate.
- The Company shall avoid conducting business operations in areas of high conservation value at both national and international levels, including protected areas, environmental protection zones, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Ramsar wetlands, and areas designated under IUCN categories.
- The Company shall promote environmentally responsible design and development practices, including the use of native plant species, the reduction of chemical use, and the implementation of landscape design that supports ecological functions to enhance the efficient and sustainable use of resources.
- The Company shall prioritize the avoidance and reduction of impacts on ecologically sensitive areas, and shall integrate nature-inclusive design concepts into project planning and development.
- The Company shall foster collaboration with government agencies, academic institutions, customers, communities, and business partners to support biodiversity conservation, restoration, and the advancement of knowledge.
- The Company shall enhance employee capacity and awareness on biodiversity on a continuous basis, and shall support research and innovation to increase biological value within urban environments.
- The Company shall monitor, evaluate, and disclose biodiversity-related information in a transparent manner, in alignment with international standards and best practices.
This Policy has been reviewed and approved by the Corporate Governance and Sustainable Development Committee at its Meeting No. 1/2026 held on March 26, 2026. It shall be reviewed at least annually, or as necessary, in the event of changes that may affect its implementation, to ensure alignment with evolving circumstances and relevant international standards.
